Pls excuse my drooling...
I've never been attracted to smartphones, at least not until now. I've always believed in having 2 pieces of gadgets. I mean, hey, if I lose one, at least I'll still have the other, right? And smartphones are big and bulky and specs-wise, they aren't as great as PDAs... (no, any PPCs aren't smart, so any PPCs with phone functions are not considered as smartphones. Smart stuff dun need constant resets, you see. :P)
Now... There are 3 babies that I'm drooling after. :) Just thinking of them is making me drool. *gets a mop to mop up all the saliva*
Top on the list is the Treo 650 by palmOne.
Not exactly a very pretty fellow, but hey, I like it so much, I'll even love the ugly antenna. *continues drooling*
Next up, the QDA-700 by Qool Labs.
Much prettier looking, IMO. But specs.. Hmm.. Oh ya, both of them run on PalmOS. Major factor. :P
Last but no least is the 7710 by Nokia.
Only flaw in this babe is that it runs on symbian (I think), therefore it won't be able to replace my T3 So sad eh?
Now now, I won't be getting any of these for 2 simple reason. The first 2 aren't in Malaysia yet and the third one doesn't run on PalmOS. Furthermore... no money lah. If I wanna get a smart phone, I'll have to sell my T3 to top up the amount of money I've saved up for my new phone.
*Look st T3* No darling, I love you so much I won't be selling you. Don't worry.

Heard that the Palmone 650 will not enter the Malaysian market due to some incompatibility problems with the sim card!!.. So perhaps you need to settle for the Palm 600... get the Tungsten 5. Now palm also requires quite a fair bit of resetting as many programs are not yet compatible with T5!

Hey YP - never really comment b4 - but handphones is something close to my heart - hope will help you decide.
Been using the T3 for yonks, but decided to change to the Treo600 because I work with both the PDA & phone a lot. A bit sick of carrying 2 devices around (esp when going out and finding needing to take 2 things + purse + other stuff girls take :P). Haven't tried the 650 out yet (hoping to), but if you're not big on the Bluetooth factor, everythign's pretty much the same on the 600 & 650 (albeit a "better" screen on the 650). Currently very happy with performance on the 600.
The 7100 - unless you're wanting "looks" over functionality, don't bother... It's nowhere near what "real" PDA's can do!
Haven't come into contact with the QDA yet... but have to agree it looks cute :) Think it'll suit you :)

You'll still need to keep a separate handphone and PDA as backups, because when something goes wrong with the smartphone and has to be sent in for repairs, you'll be without a handphone and a PDA at the same time. So, I guess your T3 is safe.

I don't plan to sell my T3 or my phone lahz. Keeping both... right now, I'll just start saving up. heehee
