Weekend With Friends

9 July 2007

The weekend to KL was entirely weird. Friday was emotionally straining and I won’t blog about it here. I am grateful for the rest of the weekend, which allowed me to forget about unhappy things and be reminded that I have great friends around me. :)

Some things never change - You see, we had planned to meet at 7pm at Pyramid, Va-too-hot-to-handle-san called just after 6pm to say that he was already on his way and I had to tell him that we were going to be late. Zen and I arrived at 7.10pm and there were only Vas, Zen and I! Heh… Vas is usually early and very seldom late for anything. And when we used to have debates training, we were lucky to get to start 30 minutes after an agreed upon meeting time. So when I told Vas we were going to be late, I can almost see his expression. He must have been thinking ‘ohh… why??? why don’t they ever change??’ :P “Sorry Vas!! But I know you love us anyway… don’t you?” *wide grin*

With YW, it was the usual “YOU MONKEY AHHH!!!” and of course, her signature laughter. When Zen and I met Jacq the following day, Jacq said, “YW was there yesterday right? I could hear her laughter on the phone!!” ROTFLOL. Monkey ahhh…

Medics are strange - See, it was a time to catch up on all sorts of gossips… so a lot of “interrogations” went on. And it sure as hell sounded like we were taking history!!! LOL And then there is always a list of essential questions to ask right? So, somewhere along the way, there was the Vasan’s 5 Question, or V5Q, (I know Zen calls it by another name, but I like the sound of V5Q).

When asking about relationships, these 5 questions are the key:
1. How long have you been together?
2. Do you love him/her?
3. Would you make sacrifice(s) for him/her?
4. Does he/she treat you like how you like to be treated?
5. Have you had sex?

The best part about these questions is the associated shock factor that allows you to access body language so the subject can’t lie. It creates an eye-popping effect, that sometimes eliminates the need to answer certain questions (especially No. 5), you can tell from the body language! Ladies and gentlemen… a round of applause to Vasan and his V5Q!

15 minutes - Special tribute to Trisha and the 15 minutes when she graced us with her presence… before running off with her Mr G. Well, that 15 minutes proved the V5Q to be very very effective when it was put to the test. We had to find out about the T-G relationship in that short amount of time… and we did! WOOHOO!!! It was good to see Trish (even IF it is only for 15 minutes)… and hear about onions. ;) (I’m oozing with sarcasm, I know)

My soon-to-be-famous friend - Hiang Liang. I must remember to get an autograph from his next time. But he simply sign one worrrr…. and like all stars, he has a good reasoning. “People don’t care how you sign, as long as you pick up the pen and scribble something.” - HL, July 2007

All the M2/03 people, if you are free this coming Saturday, please speak to HL about the event at Jln Duta. It is your chance to be associated with his rise to stardom. But it is important that you sek yoke (know how to move), not to be mistaken with sek york (take medicine). Right, Zen?

The Group
Zen, Yiwei, Trisha, Hiang Liang and Vasan. (I was behind the camera, and the pic with me in it … looks as unflattering as pics get. :P)

My lenglui friends
Zen and Jacq… Leng luis right? Heehee… This was taken on Sunday morning.

On wat-ing your friends & being a glutton - No. I never. Not my doing. I never wat Jacq. I am innocent. (I always am) She very nice mah… that’s why she woke up before 7am on a Sunday morning, drove from SBan to Sunway to pick Zen & I up, to go to Klang for BKT, then drove us back and dropped me at Puduraya, then went back to SBan… with a cold. I am innocent… I think. ^_^

Guest-of-Honour on Sunday
YUMMY!!! :D

All grown up - Since 20th Aug 2003 when we first registered in IMU, we have all grown up quite a bit (and in the process, I grew even fatter). I am glad that I have a bunch of friends who are intelligent, mature and open-minded enough to talk about all sorts of issues. I don’t know how different or similar C1/06 is to M2/03, but with half its members in different parts of the world, I am sure the dynamics is not the same. Now… if only we can have a proper gathering, eh?

My darling old housemate cum good friend
Jacq and I, if you’re looking for a great housemate, this one’s wonderful. ;) The other one is in Aussie… and that one’s very good for lifting/carrying. Heh.

Quite a bit has changed… After more than a year of leaving IMU BJ, it is no wonder that different things have happened over the time. I hear about things and I worry about some people… right now, I am just happy that we’re doing OK.

More plans for summer
1. Trip to SBan — YW, Zen and I are thinking of going to Seremban … and it goes without saying that Sheena and ShuJ will be wanting to make trips there as well (HOR??? heehee…). Jacq says that 28th July is not a good time because they have got some kampung angkat thing going on, so it’ll have to be the week before or after. Who else is interested? Old friends, siew paos and curry leaf?

2. HL’s video — If you sek yoke, do ask him about it. It is on this coming Saturday, 14th July. ;)

3. Don’t know what else already… see first lah… I wanna go to Melaka, actually. Anyone up for it? Sheena???
