Toys, Old & New

13 August 2006

First things first, I’ve got a new toy. I planned to post a picture of the said toy, but mm… let’s just say that I got malas and I’m in no mood to be putting up pictures right now. I should do that soon, together with pictures of my get-together with my darling RC friends.. but *shrug*.. that’s another topic altogether. Back to my new toy… he’s an Ixus 800IS. :D So I’ve been taking loads of pictures these few days, snapping photos of everything I see. The image stabiliser is just great. *grin*

But I’ve got my set of worries too…

With the state of affairs in Heathrow, I see myself handcarrying things from Singapore to London, then checking them in at Heathrow for my London-Belfast flight. Anyone has any idea how to pack a notebook, a pda and a camera in check in luggage such that they’ll not be damaged by the time they arrive at the destination? Yes, I’m more worried about my toys than about flights being delayed. Sigh.

Sorry for the extra worries about luggage YP. Here is some advice that might help:

Aluminium case with foam inserts cut out to fit each of your gadgets. Yes, like something James Bond would carry.

All the best in your time at Belfast, YP.

    dobbs: Thanks. :)

Chet: Thanks, but I don’t know how I’m going to make that happen.

I think the plan right now is to wrap the notebook up in multiple layer of bubble wrap, put her in her sleeve, then in her bag then wrap with my towels and put in the middle of my clothes with no hard object in the luggage case.

The aluminium case suggestion wasn’t meant to be taken seriously.

Steven: Hehe… but that’s going to be checked in, so I don’t think I’ll get much problems with that. Anyway… it doesn’t matter now. I’ll be handcarrying my notebook.

    Chet: Hee. :)
