Bad News
11 August 2006I was supposed to come home and blog about what a great day I had, but I came home to 2 bad news and let’s just say that although I had a really good time earlier, I’m in no mood to write about it. I’ll do that, with pics, tomorrow.
In the mean time…
1. Those terrorists are the most inconsiderate people on earth. Why in the world are they bombing during the time when students are heading back to school? Don’t they know that students need every single kg baggage allowance they may have? Now with the strict security in place (no hand luggage etc), my allowance has effectively been reduced by 7kg. ARGH!!! And I’ll have to check in my MBP and my gadgets. Bad bad BAD! Why can’t those people sit at home and bomb their own toes?
2. Time table’s out. Everything seems a lot more real now. I start with general surgery, 6 weeks of that, then 2 weeks of ENT. I don’t know if that’s good or bad. I think I’m freaking out all over again. OH NOOOOOOOO…. I’m going to convince myself to read something. Preferably something related to studies. Erm. Ya.

YES! I heard on news. can we just bomb off their toes for them? argh. i heard. minus 7kg and that’s ALOT. btw, does that mean, no laptop on board as well?

I dunno whether it have any effect in Malaysia. From wat I read at BBC news, only those flying from UK or/and transferring btw UK airport affected with this no hand luggage ruling…still not sure how the malaysia airport ppl would respond…

If you can get your hand luggage through the KL airport, than there will be no problem in UK (transit) as even if they forbid your hand luggage to go with you, they have the obligation to carry it in the luggage compartment. I don’t think you will lose out in weight. Remember to give yourself plenty of time as security check will slow down everything and make sure you have no coin or key in your pocket when you go through the security metal detector as you can be sure they will strip you down to your underwear if the metal detector goes off!

UK Doc: Mine isn’t a direct check in, I’ve gotta re-checkin in Heathrow. But I’m hoping everything will blow over in a week.

Bad news, the terror was planned for 18/8/06. The vigilance in airport will remain high even on the day you fly. I tell you the Heathrow security check can easily keep you in the queue for up to 1 hour, no kidding. So give yourself plenty of time, go to the boarding gate early.

well I don’t think i would gua haha… Yeep how bout u try to change ur air ticket to direct flight to Belfast… can ah?

UK Doc: Yeah… I’m hoping I’ve got enough time to clear security for my connecting flight to Belfast. I think I’ve got slightly more than 3 hrs to make my way to the correct terminal and get through the checks. Sigh… this is horrible.
Acid: No direct flight to Belfast lah. :(
