Moving On

2 June 2006

I have been away for the past few days. In fact, I can say I have been overseas.. er.. over-straits? :P

A group of Thai RC people were coming (to SG, not MY) and Doreen was supposed to be their adult chaperone. She was also on standby for Merapi and was asked to go to Indon to be on standby there for a few weeks (the volcano still hasn’t erupted but she was on ground zero when the earthquake hit, but that’s another story altogether.)… so she asked the person she knows to be really really free to help out. That’s the story of how I came out of my three years’ hiding to help out in an RCY event.

I left during a time of change, and a lot more has changed since 2003. I can safely say this, unless a friend asks me to help, or it’s an event where many dear friends will be working on… I doubt I’ll go back again. It is so different these days, I no longer feel a sense of belonging. If feeling extra is bad, then feeling extra in a place where you used to enjoy being in, where you have had some of the most memorable time of your life… is a horrible experience. I have moved on, so has RCY.
