Making More Sense

15 April 2006

To those people who weren’t with me yesterday afternoon, and those who I didn’t call/PM/IM with my crazy “wheeee…” messages, I know my previous post must be confusing, so here’s one that makes more sense.

I got the TX.

Yup. I did. Yup, I’m still sticking to Palms. I’m open to the switching idea, but as long as palm is still decent, I think I’m not going to go over to the dark side.

Here’s my palm progression…

IIIse>>M505>>T3>>TX

Strangely enough, each of them belongs in a different phase of my life where I use them for different things.

- IIIse mainly for show and I didn’t use much of it other than for the PIM functions and games. I was 14/15, what can I say?

- M505 was another “gaming device”, but this time ’round I found myself using more of the PIM functions and started reading ebooks. I also had docs I needed in them so I carried less paper around and sync everything into it instead.

- T3… it’s still my favourite. I may not like the slider, but the T3 was a great gadget to have. Strangely enough, I used it significantly less for PIM, apart from the todo list which I used a lot. I bought it in Sem2 and it was a helpful friend during KKB postings and Community Clinic visits and PBLs. While some of my friends were lugging books around, those of us with PDAs just had to poke at our nifty little gadgets. Being able to read ebooks during long trips and no having to bring paperbacks along was good, I had it with me in Chennai and the multiple bus trips home. Then there are the times when I did not have time to print my PBLs or debate things (or the uni printer conked out), just hotsync my things via docstogo and I was good to go.

- TX, definitly going to take on a role similar to the T3. I’m most likely going to use it for a lot more med ref than ever since I’m going to do clinicals proper really soon. But hmm… my new blue friend, we’ll see about that, won’t we?

I have started a new category — Palmistry, for all my palm related posts. Let’s see how that goes… :D
