Book Tag
23 November 2005I really shouldn’t be doing this. I don’t even like doing tags, but well, anything is better than studying.
Elena tagged me quite a long while back. Here goes.
1) Total number of books you own
Er… I don’t know. I think we’re thinking along the lines of 3 digits figures, below 500 though. If I include those I “steal” from Korkor, then most prob nearer 1000? Maybe not, before coming to uni, Mummy had me clear out (yeah, cruel, I know) my bookshelves and most of my books-from-childhood went to an orphanage, or a home of some sort. :’(
Then of course there are the ebooks, which I don’t like very much. But it is a cheaper option. Got a bunch of them in my portable hard disk, a bunch in the PC at home…
2) The last book you bought
If you mean any book, then it is Harrison’s Manual of Medicine, yeah, the very concise, oxford-like version of Harrison’s. I have got real deal on CD mah. *cheapskate* If you mean novel, then it is Prozac Nation. NHSD debate motion got me researching about the book and somewhere along the way, I decided I had to get it. I had a really tough time finding it though… went around to quite a few of the MPH outlets in KL. Finally found it in the one at Telawi.
3) The last book you read
Pathology of Disease heh.. er.. I’m re-reading The Darksword Trilogy and just finished Vol I, Forging The Darksword.
4)Five books that mean a lot to me
Riftwar Saga — The first fantasy series I read. Goodness knows how many times I read and re-read the books. Heh. Magician: Master looks quite kesian now, actually. Before this, I used to think this genre was for little boys with nothing better to do.
To Kill A Mockingbird — I was forced into it, actually. We did it as part of English Literature in Sec1. And through it, I learnt to “read between the lines” a bit more.
The Faraway Tree series — Heh. Er. I used to love it when I was a kid.
I don’t know what to have for the forth and fifth books, because there are many books that I enjoy but nothing significant enough to make it into the list. Maybe Life of Pi, Time Traveler’s Wife or Lesson Before Dying. It’s strange that 2 of my top 3s are relatively-unknown books eh? :P
5)Tag 5 people and have them fill this out on their blogs.
This is tough, so many people have done it before. Er..nmind lah. Let’s see, I’ll tag……..
- My own Kor Kor (not that he reads my blog, so he most prob won’t see this. Kor, do you read my blog?) It will be interesting to see what he is reading and I can plan what to steal next. Heh.

pretty funny why you think the books in your top three are unknown.
I’ve read all of them and enjoyed them to.

not “unknown” but more of the award-less kinda books.
