Eager … to discuss a dilemma
17 September 2005Like Gongster (as Adeline is affectionately referred to by the IMU debaters) I’m actually looking forward to Monday where we start a 3 days debate on Machiavallianism — A Medical Dilemma at the 4th National Health Sciences Debate. Ok, strip the theme of all its profound sounding facade or cheem-ness and you’ll see that it means to say “Medical Ethics”.
Unlike last year when we really put days and days into research and discussions and trainings, this time ’round, we didn’t spend even half as much time in preparation. I blame this one our busy schedule, in fact, with IMU Cup in full swing and MSK followed closely by CNS doing wonderful jobs of suffocating us, I’m surprised there are 4 of us from the batch debating and 4 adjudicating (huge hint to fellow M2/03-ians to come support).
Another major difference is that this time ’round, I’m as clueless as any other uni’s debaters as to what will be happening during the tournament. Since I’m not in the organising committee, I don’t even know what time the rounds are starting or even if water and paper will be provided! Heard a little rumour about there not being quarter finals and that the breaks bring you straight to the semis… *gulp* With only 8 teams breaking… it seems a far far unfulfillable dream.
I’ll be debating with Gongster just like last year. Gongster has grown so much over the past year, I personally feel that I’m not near her standards and am actually worried that I’ll be dragging her down. :( But mm.. she did say “let’s just go and wing is lah!“… Hmm… I do hope things will turn out well. If not finals, then breaks, if not breaks… then at the very least, have a wonderful time. This will most probably be the last IV for 3 out of the 4 debaters from our batch… I hope it turns out well. Nothing sucks more than a horrid “last time”, right?
Me: Will you kill me if I dun have much of a voice on Monday?
Gongster: No, we’re going to wing it, remember?
Ahh… What a lovable teammate. :D
Whiney bit: I have been having bouts of sore throat, cough and flu for the past month and this recent bout just started a day ago. Feeling uncomfortable, feverish and lethargic is terrible. Please ke lian me..

Dear, Im reading this after our disastrous humour round and Im SOOOOOOOO sorry for dragging us down with my gross lack of horny humour. :) But like u said, we’re here to have fun and FUN I intend to have tomorrow!
