Deja Vu
31 August 2005The clock struck 12 and we heard the sounds of fireworks coming from the stadium and a lot of people shouting MERDEKA! MERDEKA! Stood on the balcony, looked to our right, fireworks from the stadium; looked to our left, fireworks from KL; looked behind us, the huge pile of lecture notes that we have to get through by Friday.
Somehow, the situation seemed a little familiar… Hmm… OH!!! It was the same situation in January this year and the year before during New Year’s Eve and even December ‘03 during Xmas! It was the same “study study while everyone celebrate” situation. :(
Well, then again, I think Merdeka Day is a good day to be working hard. ‘Cos well, there are many of us here who aspire to become doctors to serve our country in time to come. (Excuse my typical idealistic young student perspective… but well… I’m not even 21 yet.)
Happy Birthday, Malaysia!
To the M2/03ians out there, work hard… just a few more days before MSK in-course and our much needed one week break. *hugs*
