WTIM: Choice
23 August 2005If anything, it’s to prove Sheena wrong, that I do want to write about words that intrigues me
With all the talk about choosing PMS-es within the batch, an appropriate second WTIM will be CHOICE, I think.
1. First and foremost, as a noun, a “choice” also means an “option” and having the power to choose. Something many people believe is a right, but more often than not, a choice is made under the influence of various other factors. Now, we can either say that there is no free choice, or look at it from another perspective and say that it’s up to a person to be influenced and hence, any choice is a free choice after all.
2. Something of good quality that was selected with care. For example, a particular university’s choice of student or if you think of food, then “choice meat”.
Choices, something we’ve long taken for granted… at the same time, I was just telling someone a few nights ago that all of us have choices and are required to make these choices… to choose between what you want and what you need, sometimes, to choose between 2 or more things that you want, and less often (hopefully), between 2 or more things that you need. Choices are really interesting, they can sometimes make our lives more enjoyable and at other times, make it more or less a torture.
